No Regrets in Wanderlust #PoemsByPat

September 27, 2012

She was the moon —

Though imperfect in some ways

Shone beautifully throughout the night

The dreamers were amazed.

She reminded me of scarlet,

A color with passion.

Her rosy cheeks or pursed lips

were nothing but temptation.

However she loved danger.

She felt like she deserved it.

She ran through the woods —

a mischievous bandit.

She ran too fast,

there was a cliff ahead!

She fell cold on the ground,

no one knew she was dead.

She's now one with the earth

Atop damp soil and dust.

"It's worth it", she whispered,

"No regrets in wanderlust."
